DFW Boys Soccer: Regionals Recap

Unlike the girls side of things in the playoff chase, the area teams in the boys brackets were decimated over the weekend as three schools will represent the DFW at State.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what took place over the weekend.


Region I

Flower Mound took home the Region I championship after needing 7-6 shootout win over Arlington Bowie in the semifinals and then knocking off a tough Grand Prairie team 2-1 in the finals.

Region II

Sachse and Allen both fell in the regional semifinals on Friday to Aldine and College Park, respectively. College Park is the Region II representative at State.


Region I

Lake Dallas just missed its bid to the State Tournament, falling 4-1 to Bel Air in the Regional Finals. Bel Air also took out Burleson in the semifinals on Friday.

Region II

Frisco Wakeland, the defending 5A champs, is back in the State Tournament after topping Mt. Pleasant 1-0 in the Regional Finals and 2-0 over Jacksonville in semifinals.


Region I

Both Argyle and Stephenville bowed out of the playoffs at the hand of San Elizario – Argyle in the semifinals and Stephenville in the finals.

Region II

Midlothian Heritage moves to the State Tournament with a pair of one-goal wins over Nevada Community (2-1 in semifinals) and Kilgore (3-2 in finals). Midlothian Heritage, which was down 2-0 and scored three in the final 10 minutes to beat Kilgore, is looking to repeat as the 4A champions.
