SWOOP, SWOOP – Eisenhower vying for state track gold

It was no surprise that the Eisenhower girls’ track team won their district titles in 2019. But how far could they go?

The Eagles’ girls continued to live up to the hype as their 4 x 100-meter and 4 x 400-meter relay teams reached the state meet.

Tytiania Morrison reached state in the 300-meter hurdles. Coach Ahmad Roper’s squad was loaded with the likes of Kiana Rollins, Darnee Williams, Iyana Gray, Hanna Simmons, Jaiya Covington, Christian Green, Deshawn Petitt, Dejanee Washington and Chanelle Houston. They were an interchangeable group, which made them so successful.

“They’ve run together for a few years together, so they have great chemistry,” Roper said. “There is a lot of history here are Eisenhower and I’ve put the record boards up in the locker room. I want to give them something to strive for. We set high expectations here and we look for them to meet those.”
