Boling breaks National Record in 100-meter dash

AUSTIN – At the beginning of the year, Matthew Boling didn’t think he would run the 100-meter dash.

On Saturday, the Georgia-track signee broke a 29-year-old national record by posting a 10.13 time, breaking the previous mark held by Henry Neal.

“I was doing well in the 4×100 before that and at Spring Break, I begged my coach to run the open 100 because it seemed fun,” Boling said. “I ran 10.22 and I kept doing it since then.”

Boling admitted has hasn’t counted the number of 100-meter races he has ran this season but put it around six total.
