VYPE 411: Lubbock Coronado’s Mikael Garza

The Panhandle voted Lubbock Coronado’s Mikael Garza the VYPE Panhandle Boys Public School Basketball Player of the Year.

VYPE caught up with the Mustang star who was a District 3-5A first team selection.

VYPE: Who has been your biggest influence in your sporting life? And Why?

GARZA: My whole family because of how much they have sacrificed and supported and cared for me throughout the year.

VYPE: What has been your greatest HS memory so far?

GARZA: Going from B team to where I am now starting on varsity.

VYPE: What’s your biggest strength? Or What do You Bring to Your Team?

GARZA: Shooting and bring hustle and effort every time I step on the court.

VYPE: What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?

GARZA: I want to be coaching basketball.

VYPE: What advice would you give a younger athlete starting his/her HS career?

GARZA: To give it all you got every time you step on the court and work hard and have a great attitude.

VYPE: What do you do outside of sports?

GARZA: I like to hang out with family and friends and workout.
